  • Filter

    Filter

There is no filtered coffee here although the name Filter might suggest otherwise. This cool discrete place has very good coffee and food.

It’s a bit on a hipster side but that’s a good thing because here you will find some delicious avocado toast, croissants, eggs benedict or pastrami sandwich. Top that with great service and you have a perfect place for breakfast or brunch.

    Tip: Pistachio souffle or croissantt

  • La Libertador

    La Libertador

What do Scotland, Cuba and Japan have in common and why should you care about India or Honduras? Only true hedonists know the answer.

All the answers can be found at La Libertador cigar bar and lounge. It’s a great new place with a smoking interior (pun intended) where you can enjoy some Cuban cigars and drink. This is not your regular dive bar but a nice cozy lounge where you can relax and unwind.

They have a nice tasting menu with a good choice of whiskies and rum.  You can always ask staff to help you find a right drink and smoke to match.

Tip: The Balvenie 14YO Caribbean Cask whisky and Quai d’Orsay 50.

  • Samo Pivo

    Samo Pivo

Relaxed and cool beer bar with lots of beer to choose from. Bottled and from the tap. Craft and known brands.

They serve only beer hence the name Samo Pivo (Beer Only). If peanuts and chips are not enough you can get some food from the pizzeria downstairs.

Smoking is allowed so it can get smoky inside when it gets crowded during cold days. They also have a big summer patio with lots of space to hang out when the weather is nice.

No credit cards accepted so bring some ca$h!

Tip: Brewdog Elvis Juice and Hoptopod, Schneider  Tap 6.

  • Zapata

    Zapata

When you decide it’s time for some fiesta in Belgrade you should come to Zapata. Enjoy some tequila and treat yourself to some hearty Mexican food.

They have everything you need…nachos, tacos, chimichangas, fajitas and it’s all delicious.  Sorry, but you will need to bring your own sombrero.

Prices are reasonable and the service is very good.

  • Java Coffee

    Java Coffee

Need a daily shot of caffeine?  Wake up and smell the java.

You can find this cool coffee shop on Senjak away from the crowds.  If you are near the Museum of Yugoslavia or got yourself a place to stay near this place, you should make it your first stop to jumpstart your day. They have few choices of that much-needed caffeine fix for you to enjoy.

  • Beerland

    Beerland

Totally off the tourist map, this local pub is hidden in Banovo Brdo so you’ll have to work a bit harder to find it. Your reward beside good choice of beers will be food to match. Their burgers, sausages and freshly made bread can really be worth the trip.

When the weather is nice there’s plenty of room outside, but inside can be a bit crowded because it’s a small pub. Nevertheless, the atmosphere is nice and relaxed. If you are planning to come in the evening with a group of friends I would recommend coming early or booking a table.

Tip: Try local craft beer Hoptopod (IPA) and chilly sausages with cheese.

  • Druid

    Druid

If you want to get away from the crowds come to this speakeasy bar. Druid really has some special potions made in form of cocktails. One of the hidden gems in Belgrade it’s a small, intimate and sophisticated bar you never knew existed.

Ask for a classic cocktail or find your perfect poison with a help of a bartender. They play old LP’s and sometimes they have live blues/jazz music.

Take note it’s a winter bar so it’s probably closed May-September. Check a green light outside to know if it’s open.

Tip: All bartenders know their stuff, but if available ask for Rasha. You’ll be in good hands.

  • Dogma

    Dogma

Looking for a place to crack open a cold one with the boys (or girls)? How about a visit to a craft brewery?

Well, now you can have both in one place. If you visit a small craft brewery Dogma in the middle of Belgrade you can try some great craft beers and sit back and enjoy.

They make hoppy ales which you can try at their taproom. It’s big enough for large groups so you can bring all your beer loving friends. Also, they have a small tour with tasting from the tanks if the crowd is right.

Tip: If I had to choose only one beer it would be the Hoptopod (IPA)

  • Cedic kafana

    Cedic kafana

Čedić is one of those off beaten track kind of place. Looking at the map there is nothing around it that will be off interest for regular tourist visiting Belgrade. But this local restaurant itself is enough of a reason to do just that.

Kafanas are local restaurants like taverns. It’s a place for family and friends to have lunch or dinner and have a good time. In some there is even live music. Today there are new kind of kafanas popular with younger people that are more of a club than a restaurant.

Not Cedic. It’s a family run restaurant with great food and service. A home away from home atmosphere.

Tip: Start your day at Ada Ciganlija, and finish it by coming to a lunch or dinner in Cedic. It’s a 5-minute drive away. Take a taxi or a bus and have a good meal away from crowd and tourist traps.

Try Rebarca (pork ribs) or Teletina ispod sača (beef).

Can be pain to wait for pizza if it’s crowded.

    Tip: Koza Nostra or Corn
